Abbiocco Alternative Filipino Tomas Morato, QC

[2019-July-24] Soft opening operations is a tricky thing. It allows you to operate ASAP but some unwanted compromise might arise.

The place looks nice and clean. It is located on the ground floor of Metro Stonerich Corporate Center Building at Tomas Morato. It is spacious and tasteful.

Lets start with what I liked most. My top favorite would be the bulalo.

Loved the generous amount of bone marrow. I was even able to make myself a bone marrow lettuce orange pomelo salad! The meat was tender enough. The veggies were still crunchy. The soup isn’t overly oily.

Now to the rest of the food we were able to try. Soups…

All three soups were all ok but the pumpkin soup is the one I like most, creamy and tasty.

We also had Pomelo Salad (from which I got my ingredients for my ‘Bulalo Salad’, hehe) which I liked too.

We had quite a lot of food …

All of the above was at the very least ok. Unfortunately, a dish that looked so enticing and got everyone’s attention turned out to be a letdown.

The crabmeat was powdery and definitely did not taste good. It has all the symptoms of ‘bilasang alimasag’. I ask others who have tried this dish on other days and said theirs was ok. I hope Abbiocco can improve on their consistency so customer satisfaction will be and can remain high.
