8065 Bagnet Malate, Manila

[2019-01-03] This is one of the stops in the ‘Taft Eats’ vlog of a foodie friend. I met up with him after going to my bank branch to pickup my ARC card.

Though there are tables outside, it is still better to eat inside since it is literally a side walk where a lot of things are beyond the control of the proprietor (like the smells, noises, etc.) We opted to eat ouside due to the dimly lit interior of the restaurant which can make taking a video more difficult.

The chosen menu item for this stop is of course the original bagnet. They have quite a number of flavored bagnet here. The order includes the typical free soup and the liver sauce. The bagnet was good and tender. The meat used was fresh so no unpleasant smell or aftertaste. The liver sauce is probably store bought since the liver taste is quite mild. There was also bagoong and raw mango slivers served with the meal. I normally eat fried pork as-is or with liver sauce or ketsup but never tried it with bagoong before. It seems fried pork also goes well with bagoong as long as the bagoong is not too salty.

The serving size of the meal is good enough for a medium meal.
