[2018-10-29] When some friends heard that we were going to Noor their common comment was ‘Masarap doon!’.
The place was decorated for halloween similar to most of the establishment nearby.
While the food was being prepared, we were able to sample some of their cocktails/mixed drinks.
Coconut Record – Cognac, Gin, Almond, Shredded Coconut
Noor – Gin, Fresh Basil, Cucumber, Fresh Lemon Juice, Tonic Water
Cuban Beehive – Rum, Honey, Lime Juice, Angostura
Regina Spektor – Vodka, Campari, Cointreau, Egg White, Orange
Of the food that were served, my top 3 favorites are :
Cauliflower – Deep fried, aioli, parsley. First time to eat fried cauliflower. I like my veggies to have some crunch. These were delicious but would have been better if there were some crunch left in the cauliflower but I still like them as they are.
Moroccan Shrimps – Tzatziki, charred eggplant. I seem to be developing a taste for tzatziki. I already like shrimp and eggplant 🙂
Moroccan Cigars – wrapped short ribs similar in appearance to ‘lumpiang shanghai but longer’. It is good as is or dipped in the two types of dips provided or even with tzatziki. It may not be the ‘proper’ way to eat them but I just combine/eat food that tastes good or goes well together for me.
The rest of the food served : Chicken thigh skewers, Lamb baklava, Cured purple salmon, Fish kebab, Knafe (hot & cold dessert in one)
It seems the ‘Masarap doon!’ comment was right. I not only enjoyed eating but also drinking 🙂
