According to the owners, Braises ‘N Stews is the first restaurant in the Philippines specializing in serving Taiwan street foods. One of the reasons the site was chosen (and/or the opportunity came up when it became available) was its proximity to the groups other brand which is just across the road.
The setup is that customers can customize their meal by choosing among the raw/semi-cooked ingredients and have it cooked in the kitchen. So that is what I did and ended up having almost too much food! The chosen ingredients on the baskets doesn’t look like it will be a heavy meal but you may be surprised just like I was when it is served to you after cooking. A suggested first experience option is to choose any of their combo set meals so you can have a better idea of what you are getting plus get to try the more popular choices first. By the way for those that eats/likes blood, I strongly suggest you try ducks blood. It is definitely not like the local ‘betamax’.
I am one of those that does not like to cook and prefers food to be served ready to eat so their system works for me. For the slushee, the mango mint is a safe choice but I would suggest that you try the lemon with plum.
You can see the ingredients laid out on the display area. There are labels/prices on the ingredients.
I liked all that I was able to try/taste and were cooked just right except for the broccoli which was a bit overcooked for me. I like my veggies to still have a crunch when I eat them. They normally put all ingredients all at the same time so those that cooks faster may be overcooked. Just make your preference/request known to the staff so they can do it for you.
Go visit them to have a taste of Taiwan Street Foods 🙂
