[2019-Oct-10] After a very satisfying coffee, pastries, red wine, truffle cheese, etc. tasting at Cafe Moka at BGC (Try their Salted Coffee!!!) . I remembered I had some gift certificates from Honolulu cafe that expired (huhu sayang 1k worth) so I decided to check if a fellow foodie who stays near Ermita is available so we can use the remaining unexpired gift certificates before it expires too.
Fortunately the fellow foodie was available. I left BGC around 5pm and arrived at Ermita around 7pm.
The food and drinks we ordered…
Noodles with soup with egg and spam for toppings – The noodles are similar to instant noodles in consistency/texture. The soup has a mild than most flavors but I like it. I would like it with more soup though. Mahilig sa sabay kasi, hehehe
Noodles with sauce with chicken as topping – The noodles are basically the same with the dish above. The flavor again was mild but was ok. The chicken was tender and tasted good.
Prawns with Salted Egg – This dish would be better if there were less of a ‘fishy’ taste in the shrimp. The shrimps were big and plump but for some reason had that aftertaste that was bordering on unpleasant. It was still ok and all were consumed, hehe
The drinks you see behind are Honey Lemon & Watercrest. The honey lemon is your usual can-find-anywhere drink. The Watercrest had a ‘lasang-gamot’ aftertaste but was still ok.
The box is of course the egg tarts. These should be consumed with a drink at the ready since it feels a bit dry. I like the mild, not-too-sweet flavor of the egg tarts.
BTW, gift checks here are supposedly meant for dine-in only but the staff was good enough to still provide the box for the tarts.
