[2019-Jun-25] Tiyo (Uncle) Craft Kitchen & Bar is a gastropub that takes pride in serving common comfort food in an uncommon manner. They are also proud to have the widest craft beer selection/collection.

What exactly is a “gastropub”? From Wikipedia, “A gastropub is a hybrid pub and restaurant, notable for serving good quality beer, wine and food”.

Lets check this one at a time;

“serving good quality beer” – with their wide selection of craft beers, there should be at least one that you’d like. So yes for this.

“serving good quality wine” – wine was not served but 3 cocktails (and some beers) were served and I liked all three! So a conditional yes?

“serving good quality food” – with their policy of not using any commercial premixes, flavor enhancers and anything artificial, the level of difficulty of food preparation rises but thankfully it bore fruits in terms of good food. Another yes.

We also had desserts…

The Turon a la Mode with Gabi Ice cream on top would be better with some langka with the saba but that could be just a spoiled me who prefers turon with strong langka flavor.

The Palitaw Mochi could use a bit more filling or better distribution of filling but otherwise ok.

Saving the best for last? What do you think this is?

Hiding under all that toppings are the nachos! This dish certainly goes well with the beers and cocktails they served and that is enough reason for me to come back (not alone of course, but with good company)
